These images have as many similarities as differences. They analyze the conditions (and limitations) of digital reproduction and physical representation.
But, what is the current situation of Photography, the ultimate realistic means, depicting the perfection of reality? Is it still the perfect analogon of representation?
The reference remains, the closer we get to the images, the more unreal they become.
The pixels, these uniformly colored cells, are surfaces that store other captured surfaces. Their visibility
is often considered as a mistake, a failure, a poor image. But maybe that’s where its value resides. These little information blocks reaffirm the digital representation of the images, their irreducibility.
Despite the reality of the image, we cannot escape these minimal units that camouflage themselves in the pixel pattern, perhaps mixed with tiles and windows, merging and mixing into a new reality.
